Introduction

The training at the Provincial Hospital in Moussoro was opened at 9:20am by Vournone Payebbé, the Interim Health Delegate for the Bahr el Gazel province. He noted that “intensive care is an important challenge for our hospital.” He encouraged the participants to follow the training well in order to “increase their level” and be better able to respond to challenges.
The training

The training started with a presentation by Dr. Michael Schüle on monitoring of oxygen saturation and non-invasive blood pressure. Next, the participants were able to use a pulse oxymeter and scope in small groups.

After a break, warning signs were presented and discussed. Finally, the participants responded to clinical cases. In order to simulate real conditions, actors played the role of patients.
